Write out the names of your characters and explain
1) How you thought of their name
2) What made you create the character in the first place
3) How the character has changed over time (if they have changed)
4) Any random fun fact about that character
Okay I think I'll use 3 OC and my version of Pikachu (Who I actually made a character)
But first a little explanation:
Nightshade Blossom initially was meant as a sequel to the anime, featuring Kiara (the red eyed girl) as the main character, while Ash was already the world champion for 6 years. Kiara (whose name was originally Arielle) was a genius and introverted trainer who when receiving her starter in her graduation day, she met a young boy named Nathan (the previous role of the red haired kid). In this version the story was kind of similar, the visions were the same but Nathan and Kiara were suffering them, the ghost was after Kiara and the homicides at the church were Nathan's doing, but in that version he didn't wield a sword and used his pokémon instead. Also there were no Light, Time, Space and Darkness archetypes. Eventually that evolved into the actual Nightshade Blossom the more elements I saw in the anime and games to use and especially for the characters. Dawn, Brock, Misty and other anime characters had minor roles or were siply cameos, while Mia didn't appear at all.
1-Name: Kiara Nidream. The name means "Darkness a dream in the Night". This was thought since the character has a two face personality, the shy and kind outside but a murderous and psychopathic interior, who acts colder to others. Also her whole team is Darkness based.
2-Origin: Kiara was moved from the main protagonist role of the original story to a major protagonist. She was initially the main character, but focusing the WPBF AND the visions on her was too much, so she was removed from the trainer role and focused on the latter.
3-Changes: Kiara's lack of stability between her two sides becomes little by little balanced, leading to her gentle side. Also her shyness disappears in the end.
4-Fun Fact: Her red eyes are a contrast to her cute face, making something feel wrong when looking at her, also they shapeshift from the sad looking ones to feline like ones. Her hair is pink and has a silver flick near her right eye contrasting her eyes. She is left handed. If she had a seiyuu it would be Nana Mizuki.
1-Name: Fate Vitacrucis. Fate is Nathan's incarnation in this story, unlike his original part Fate is much colder and well mannered. His name means "Destiny a life of sorrow". Much to match the character's depressive attitude and reaction towards others.
2-Origin: Originally as Nathan he was a breeder who showed Kiara good things in life, but the radical change was needed to make him an enigma, due to being the goal of Ash Ketchum in Nightshade Blossosm, since Ash was removed from the champion role to the lead one. For that reason he also becomes the main protagonist along Ash, to show the trainer's life from the other point of view, the top.
3-Changes: His coldness and evil sides eventually begin to calm, but he has to deal with a greater problem, he has to destroy the thing he despises most in the world but is unable, because said thing is inmortal; himself.
4-Fun Fact: Fate's still holds a relationship with Kiara, but this time they hate each other with their hearts, unlike the original where they even were in love. Fate's eyes are pink for the same reason Kiara's are red, since Fate's expression is much harsher than Kiara the effect is the same with the opposing elements. He has dark red hair with black hair ends, much opposing to Kiara. His eyes also shapeshift, but from feline to sad looking. He is ambidiextrous. He has a huge soft spot for sweet things. If he had a seiyuu it would be Jun Fukuyama.
1-Name: Maria Neveing. Her name means "Sea of Bitterness lasting forever" The name is an irony to he happy exterior and friendly personality but also to show her inner doubts and pans, her worries and sorrows. Her outer self hides a girl who only wants to cry.
2-Origin: She didn't appear in the original story, but when I saw the overactive type of girl I wanted to include a cute and friendly character, with strong temper but also very emotive, that is why I decided to include Maria and to have it a connection with Ash as a close friend, when I noticed the leaf green girl design was never used in the anime I thought it would be perfect to use it and also it could make a very well done relationship with Ash without many introductions or too many OCs.
3-Changes: Eventually she shows her own sorrow but starts to solve them, but that's just the beginning.
4-Fun Fact: She is like Ash's mentor and older sister in many ways, and an excelent fencer. She likes to pretend being more mature than she is but only to give others a feeling of reliability. Her eyes are glowing orange only in this story. If she had a seiyuu it would be Aya Hirano
1-Name: Aeon (Pikachu) which means "eternal" is the name given because I wanted to raise the point that he is an everlasting friend even when he is not with Ash.
2-Origin: I always got bothered that even with all the talk that Pokemon are special and stuff, they are never more than pets or simple animals, we never get to see or hear them drive them the plot. Aeon takes care of that in a world appart from humans but within Pokémon. Also his actions are what produces a 180 degree personalty twist in Ash.
3-Changes: Aeon is perhaps the most complex character in Nightshade Blossom, he starts as the friendly Pikachu, but that soon comes to an end.
4-Fun Fact: He is annoyed when people call him Pikachu if they know his name. He can write and read human language perfectly, he can't speak it due to biological reasons. If it wasn't for Ash, he would kill his opponents. If he had a Seiyuu (As Aeon) it would be Akira Ishida
